I respond to the resonance of spaces. I’m sensitive to cultural conventions in design and the physical experience of environments. I use spatial and surface design to articulate this experience. Recurring motifs include the recreation or reimagining of existing interiors, decorative surfaces and objects, naturally dyed and printed fabric. Sometimes I use decorating as a prompt for working with materials, as a strategy to engage formally with my surroundings. For me decorating could mean applying lipstick to a manhole or making a throw pillow.
Currently I am researching plant dyes and training in Cranio Sacral therapy; finding new perspectives in the structure of organic systems. I am exploring ideas of living presence and communication with other organisms.
I collaborate with artists of various disciplines and create installations for group interactions which include eating, dance, discussion, meditation, play.
I was born in Poole, Dorset and now live in Brixton, London.
